Nearly 30 years since gracing the screen as the eccentric pet sleuth, Jim Carrey is reportedly set to reprise his role in the third installment of the movie. According to the film production company, Morgan Creek, the movie is in development for Amazon.

During COVID, audiences have been in love and are thrilled to have beloved characters brought back with new stories. Ace Ventura will see a new day at Amazon as a major motion-picture/theatrical with the Sonic the Hedgehog writers.
Despite the fact the franchise is nearly three decades old, it has seen a recent revival of sorts over the last couple of years according to the site. It is not surprising as many reboots and sequels have been made of movies over 20 years old. Even Carrey reprised his role as Lloyd Christmas in the 2014 sequel to ‘Dumb and Dumber’… ‘Dumb and Dumber To’. Ace Ventura, like Dumb and Dumber, made Carrey a household name and one of the most quotable comedic actors of all time.
Ace Ventura 3 is reportedly set to be written by the team that wrote ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’, a more recent Carrey film.
