Prepare to take a walk down memory lane as HBO Max is set to begin streaming “Harry Potter 20th Anniversary Special: Return to Hogwarts” on New Year’s Day.
The special reunites original cast members Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the theatrical release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The first installments of the franchise hit theaters on November 14th, 2001, and earned $965,054,122 worldwide.

“When things get really dark and times are really hard, there’s something about Harry Potter that makes life richer,” Watson said in the trailer.
In addition to the main trio returning, director Chris Columbus as well as Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom) and others will gather in Gryffindor Tower to enjoy a look to the past.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is the second highest-grossing film in the franchise at $317,575,550 domestically. It trails only the final film in the run, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 which brought in $381,011,219 domestically.
