It is very likely that no two people would have the same Top 10 movies of all time. There are far too many to choose from and quite a number of opinions on what makes a movie great.
However, based on numerous ratings, we have gathered the Top 10 movies of all time according to the media out, IMDB.com.
10. The Good, The Bad And The Ugly (1966) – 8.8 ★
IMDB Summary:
Blondie, The Good (Clint Eastwood), is a professional gunslinger who is out trying to earn a few dollars. Angel Eyes, The Bad (Lee Van Cleef), is a hitman who always commits to a task and sees it through–as long as he’s paid to do so. And Tuco, The Ugly (Eli Wallach), is a wanted outlaw trying to take care of his own hide.
9. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) – 8.8 ★
The first in the epic trilogy that follows the stories of the books by the same name, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings hit theaters in 2001. The movie starred Elijah Wood as hobbit, Frodo Baggins and his journey to destroy the ring of power.

An ancient Ring thought lost for centuries has been found, and through a strange twist of fate has been given to a small Hobbit named Frodo. When Gandalf discovers the Ring is in fact the One Ring of the Dark Lord Sauron, Frodo must make an epic quest to the Cracks of Doom in order to destroy it. However, he does not go alone. IMDB Summary:
Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson) and Vincent Vega (John Travolta) are two hit men who are out to retrieve a suitcase stolen from their employer, mob boss Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames). Wallace has also asked Vincent to take his wife Mia (Uma Thurman) out a few days later when Wallace himself will be out of town. Butch Coolidge (Bruce Willis) is an aging boxer who is paid by Wallace to lose his fight. The lives of these seemingly unrelated people are woven together comprising of a series of funny, bizarre and uncalled-for incidents.
7. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) – 8.9 ★
The epic conclusion of The Lord of the Rings trilogy hit theaters in 2003 and concluded an epic three-movie job for a majority of the main cast.

The final confrontation between the forces of good and evil fighting for control of the future of Middle-earth. Frodo and Sam reach Mordor in their quest to destroy the One Ring, while Aragorn leads the forces of good against Sauron’s evil army at the stone city of Minas Tirith.
6. Schindler’s List (1993) – 8.9 ★
IMDB Summary:
Oskar Schindler is a vain and greedy German businessman who becomes an unlikely humanitarian amid the barbaric German Nazi reign when he feels compelled to turn his factory into a refuge for Jews. Based on the true story of Oskar Schindler who managed to save about 1100 Jews from being gassed at the Auschwitz concentration camp, it is a testament to the good in all of us.

5. 12 Angry Men (1957) – 9.0 ★
IMDB Summary:
The defense and the prosecution have rested, and the jury is filing into the jury room to decide if a young man is guilty or innocent of murdering his father. What begins as an open-and-shut case of murder soon becomes a detective story that presents a succession of clues creating doubt, and a mini-drama of each of the jurors’ prejudices and preconceptions about the trial, the accused, AND each other. Based on the play, all of the action takes place on the stage of the jury room.
4. The Godfather: Part II (1974) – 9.0 ★

3. The Dark Knight (2008) – 9.0 ★
The second in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight earned over $1 billion worldwide in theaters and is regarded as one of the best Batman live-action movies, if not the best, of all time.

Vito is a powerful man, and is kind to all those who give him respect but is ruthless against those who do not. An adaption of the Stephen King novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, the movie earned just under $29 million worldwide but has only grown in popularity since. Despite its poor box office performance, it was nominated for an oscar.

Chronicles the experiences of a formerly successful banker as a prisoner in the gloomy jailhouse of Shawshank after being found guilty of a crime he did not commit.
