If Marvel wants to produce a Spider-Man 4 film with Tobey Maguire, director Sam Raimi would love to tell another tale in the MCU.
Director Sam Raimi is preparing for his debut in the current MCU with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness next month but it is his original Marvel trilogy that has garnered some attention lately.
In an interview with Fandango to promote the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel, Raimi was inevitably asked about Tobey Maguire’s recent reprisal of the web crawler in Spider-Man: No Way Home and whether or not there would be a fourth film in his future.

“I’ve come to realize after making Doctor Strange that anything is possible, really anything in the Marvel universe, any team-ups. I love Tobey. I love Kirsten Dunst. I think all things are possible. I don’t really have a story or a plan. I don’t know if Marvel would be interested in that right now. I don’t know what their thoughts are about that. I haven’t really pursued that. But it sounds beautiful. Even if it wasn’t a Spider-Man movie, I’d love to work with Tobey again, in a different role.”

Anything really does seem possible at Marvel these days and it looks as though Raimi is buying into that which could mean good things for fans in the future. It wasn’t too long ago that fans were clamoring for a third installment of The Amazing Spider-Man following Andrew Garfield’s appearance in No Way Home.
Both of these projects are obviously far from becoming a reality but for the former, at least fans know that Raimi would be all in if the MCU came calling.
“It’s like the world’s best toy box to be able to play at Marvel. I’d love to come back and tell another tale, especially with the great management they’ve got there.”
