The MCU is already full-bore into Phase 5 with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as the latest blockbuster to hit the big screen.
It’s been a rapid climb up since the conclusion of the Infinity War saga and with nearly 30 movies filling the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it seems appropriate to give a definitive ranking of every film to date.

10. Captain America: Civil War (2016)
Captain America: Civil War has come to be called a fifth Avengers movie, and why not? You get almost the entire cast of heroes, plus the introduction of the MCU’s Spider-Man, pitted against each other as Team Iron Man and Team Captain American find themselves on opposite sides of an issue. Many roots are sown in this blockbuster that splits the first two Avengers movies from the Thanos-heavy second two.
9. Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
In the second of three Captain America movies starring Chris Evans, Steve Rogers a.k.a Captain America is on the hunt for the mysterious “Winter Soldier” in a Jason Bourne-esque action thriller.
8. Black Panther (2018)
Following the events of Captain America: Civil War, we immerse ourselves in the mysterious Wakanda as T’Challa, played by the late Chadwick Boseman, takes on complicated villain, Killmonger, played by Michael B. Jordan. It’s incredible from every facet which helped it become the first superhero movie nominated for a Best Picture Oscar.
7. Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
There is plenty of comedy sprinkled throughout the MCU, however, no film best better utilizes than Guardians of the Galaxy. The movie follows Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and his ragtag group of “heroes” which includes a tree, a talking raccoon, a literal meathead, and, of course, the daughter of super-villain, Thanos. The movie, and soundtrack, are an instant classic.
6. Captain America: First Avenger (2011)
The quintessential origin film, Captain America: The First Avenger does a great job of establishing Chris Evans’ as the perfect Steve Rogers. In this movie, we see the transformation of Steve Rogers from a scrawny pushover to the world’s first superhero.
5. Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
Thor had a solid introduction to the MCU and an underwhelming second act. However, director Taika Waititi hit a home run with his fresh take on Thor and the film franchise. Waititi brought a heavy dose of humor to the film as well as the Hulk. Plus, we were introduced to characters such as Korg and Valkyrie.
4. Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
In the face of never-ending hype and a desire to get back to theaters, Spider-Man: No Way Home managed to top two previously successful Spider-Man films starring Tom Holland. The third Holland film brought together three generations of web crawlers as Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprised their roles as Peter Parker to help the MCU’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man stave off a bevy of familiar villains.
3. Avengers: Endgame (2019)
A nearly perfect and fitting end to the Infinity War saga, Avengers: Endgame hits nearly every note with a great blend of action and nostalgia, and, it comes with a heart-wrenching finish.
2. Iron Man (2008)
The movie that started it all, Iron Man has truly stood the test of time. Premiering in May of 2008, Robert Downey Jr. is brilliant as Tony Stark in an action-packed, efficient origin film that set the stage for the entire Infinity War Saga and MCU as we know it.
1. Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
The penultimate Avengers film delivered on just about every level. A true blockbuster, the movie managed to pack just about every superhero in this gigantic, made for the big screen, epic. The decade-long journey brought together nearly every MCU superhero to that point to battle super-villain Thanos and his army of alien invaders. Not only did the fighting deliver, but the movie also gave us one of the best cliffhangers. It is truly the gem of the MCU… so far.
